The Automatic Shutdown (ASD) Relay controls the power supply to essential engine components, like the ignition coils and fuel injectors. It acts as a safety feature, cutting off power to these systems when the engine is turned off. And also shuts down the engine if the engine control module (ECM) detects a fault. Such as a problem with the crankshaft or camshaft sensors. A malfunctioning (ASD) relay can cause a vehicle to not start or to stall while running.
