Car Fluids

So, under every car’s hood, you’ll find; a wide variety of reservoirs, filled with different car fluids.

Consequently, all of these car fluids, are engineered to fulfill a specific role.

That’s why, acquainting yourself with the various fluid reservoirs, can help you proactively keep your car in top shape.

Some of these car fluids are:

Engine Oil

By far, the most important car fluid in your car. Even if you’re not big into cars, you probably understand the importance of engine oil. Engine oil lubricates the engine of your car and ensures smooth, consistent operation. Consequently, having a low oil level, can lead to dangerous and costly engine damage.

Brake Fluid

Did you know that you even needed to get your brake fluid changed? A lot of people are unaware that this is a thing. It is, and, for safety on of the very important car fluids to be on top of. In order to keep it from boiling at the high temperatures, generated by hot brakes.

Also, brake fluid contains chemicals, that cause it to absorb moisture. When brake fluid contains moisture, it will boil. It’s also incredibly corrosive, which is why it turns reddish brown, when it’s been left in the system for too long.

Engine Coolant

Engine coolant, keeps your engine from overheating. Consequently, by drawing heat from the engine and distributing, it throughout your radiator. As a result, if you have a low level of engine coolant, your car could overheat. Resulting in damage to your engine as well as other parts.

Other car fluids that need care as well include:

  • Transmission Fluid.
  • Differential Fluid.
  • Power Steering Fluid.
  • Hydraulic Clutch Fluid.
  • Window Washer Fluid.

Perhaps the most important part of owning a car, is keeping up with any routine maintenance and services. As such, replenishing and flushing car fluids on a regular basis, is crucial to your car’s overall performance.

Thank You !
