Fuel Pump Relays: Supply Higher Power, Used By The Fuel Pump

“Choose Your Help Topic Below”

A fuel pump relay is an electromagnetic switch that controls the flow of high-current power to the fuel pump. It acts as a gateway between the vehicle’s electrical and fuel systems. When the ignition is turned, the relay receives a low-current signal from the engine control module (or other control systems).

And,  triggers it to close the larger circuit and allow power from the battery to flow to the fuel pump. This allows the fuel pump to pressurize the fuel system, delivering fuel to the engine for combustion.
