A hot temperature, usually above 195-220°F (90-105°C), means overheating. And is indicated by:
- Rising gauge into the red
- Steam
- Strange smells (sweet/burning)
- Performance issues
It requires you to pull over safely, turn off the engine. Then let it cool before checking anything. It often signals low coolant, a faulty thermostat, or cooling system leak.
