Your vehicle’s Electrical System consists of three main parts, the battery, starter motor, and the alternator.
In addition, other circuitry and switches, provide the pathway, for every electrical component in your vehicle.
All Circuits are opened and closed, either by switches, relays or remote switches. And, most of these are operated by, electromagnets.
The Electrical System is protected by, fuses and circuit breakers. In addition, there are other circuits that power lights, electric motors, sensors, heating elements, locks, radio and more.
Current flows along a single cable from the battery to the component being powered. Then, back to the battery through the vehicle’s metal body. The body is connected to the earth terminal of the battery by a thick cable.
